ONLINE SELF-PACED Courses
OPEN TO: Clinicians, team leaders, and healthcare institutions worldwideCommunication for informed consent is vital for patients, families, and providers. Yet it is often inadequate, resulting in poorly aligned expectations for a surgery, procedure, or course of treatment. Such communication depends on establishing relationships and trust, even within limited time. This course focuses on improving communication and relational skills during the informed consent process to better align provider and family expectations, with a specific focus on surgical informed consent. PERCS Peer Support Rounds
PERCS (Program to Enhance Relational Communication Skills) Rounds offer monthly, hour-long interdisciplinary forums where clinical staff can share difficult or challenging experiences in a supportive environment and explore practical, helpful tools for everyday practice. Conversation is guided by IPEP psycho-social and family faculty, nursing unit champions and leaders, as well as ethics experts.
